Then I expect you will be used to uneven heat, poor control, high bills and something less than attractive, as electric panel heaters should be considered for replacement.

Electric Panel heaters have been installed into flats and apartments in particular by property developers who have installed them as they are a cheap way for the builder to put heat into rooms, and these panel heaters are a budget heater that unfortunately you have to pay the bills for.

One of the main downsides is that they do not provide an even balanced heat around the room.  They provide very localised heat and usually struggle to keep a room warm, meaning that the thermostat is constantly calling for heat and therefore the panel heater is always on and consuming energy.

Consider this. A modern flat with a bedroom of 4m x 3m x 2.3m will need an electric panel heater of approx 1Kw.

Therefore to heat the room for 4 hours (2 hours in the morning and 2 in the evening) x 0.13 p/per unit of electricity per hour (the heating consumtion is 100% during each hour) x  7 days week x 30 weeks will cost £109 per year

Here is the calculation – 1Kw x 4 x 0.13 x 7 x 30 = £109 running cost

That’s just 1 room and is being conservative.  You can quickly see how your bills can rack up.

Now compare that with  one of our modern economy electric heaters with dynamic ceramic storage capacity.

You still need a 1Kw heater but the running costs are different because our Energy efficient heaterss have ability to store heat for up to 40 minutes, so now the calculation becomes this:-

Therefore to heat the room for 4 hours (2 hours in the morning and 2 in the evening) x 0.13 p/per unit of electricity per hour  x  (consumption of 20 minutes per 1 hour of use = (4 x 20 =1.33 hours) = 0.17p x 7 days week x 30 weeks will cost £36.30 per year

1Kw x 1.33 x 0.13 x 7 x 30 = £36.30 running cost.

That’s a saving of £72.70 per year.
